This is my new phrase, but it is at the moment. I do not know whether I am coming or going. Poor old Mrs. G. is having to put up with it, and try and keep on my coat tails and me under control. I think I have persuaded her that it is not a problem, it is an opportunity. If you are going to live life, why not live it 100mph?
The emails at 4 in the morning and the phone calls at 6am are starting to do her head in, but apart from that she is doing OK. I think it is strengthening our relationship, rather than making it worse. If we both come out the other end it will be exciting. If we don't then one of us will have to get on with it. Interesting times. As I say slightly manic, but exciting and good fun. Don't know if Mrs. G. has bought into the "good fun bit", but she is getting there.
So what else? Yesterday. Slept about an hour which is average at moment. I will sleep at some point, and it will probably be a day. Up early in London. All over the place in the morning. Got back to Reading in time to enjoy Ex-Reading v Ex-Arsenal. Match was played at RTFC, Stours lane, Tilehurst, Reading. Great game. Great atmosphere. X-Arsenal totally out classed Reading first half, and were two nil up at half-time. Should have been more. Reading came back second half and won 4-2, encouraged no doubt by one or two of us who had visited the beer tent. I think the arsenal players were starting to look slightly intimidated.
Mrs G. picked me up at 5pm, and then I made BBQ. After dinner I did go to sleep for a while, but have up since midnight updating blogs, emails, etc..
Today sounds like being totally manic as well. Don't know where to start. The job list is about 100, and if I get to watch any of the cricket, I will be very lucky.
Got to go, Catch you all later, Thanks for all the kind comments. More comments always appreciated.
The other site, always worth checking out. If you have not joined yet, join now, and tell your friends. It's a great laugh.

Just quick update on what has been going on in my life.
Many thanks to Peter btw for kind comments. More comments always appreciated.
Well England are doing quite well against Australia. Rain seems to be helping Australia, and I guess the draw is the possibility.
The Big Match is though ex-Reading v ex-Arsenal at RTFC, Scours Lane, Tilehurst, Reading. Kick off 2.30pm today. Admission 6 pounds for adults. All proceeds going to a cancer charity. There is another charity game kicking off at 10.30am. Admission is free but donations accepted. The bar will will be open all day. I would guess from about 10am, and I suspect the gates will open about the same. Give the club a ring if you want more details.
I hope to get there about 2.30pm.and depart about 5pm.
I have been in London most of the week. I would normally add this sort of detail to my own blog http://john2e.typepad.com/
But at the moment I am having trouble updating my own blog, so I will stick it here for now. The main reason for this is I am having one of my weekly mid-life crises. Funny enough I am quite enjoying it, but it is driving my poor lovely beautiful wife quite nuts.
OTOH it has some advantages. We have a flat in London, that we normally rent out. It needs a little attention. Decorating. Carpets replacing. Some new tiles in the bathroom. Little jobs like internet access and light bulbs replacing. I now have internet. a computer that works, and light bulbs have been replaced. One keeps flashing driving me nuts. I will fix it, before I depart back to Reading.
We are not going to rent the flat out for the next couple of months. My wife spends more time in London these days My intention is to set it up more like an office so that Mrs. Gambler can use it as a London base. Radio and Printer ordered. This flat which is quite flash. "two bed in Fulham". Posh river view will also become the "London Headquarters" of the "The Sports Exchange". Gordon was down Thursday and he was suitably impressed. My last tenant. Mister Earl was a complete gentleman. He left the flat in a perfect condition. A previous tenant. No names mentioned at this point did not. In addition to leaving the flat in a mess, he owes me 10K rent. He thinks I have forgotten. I have not. It is just a matter of time. It turns out he owes a lot of people a lot of money. I would not be surprised if we were talking millions. Possibly a serial con-man. Thinks I have forgotten but I have not. Fulham will become the base for the final assault. I am afraid my estate agents B and R may get a bit of flak as well. Could turn out to be an interesting business opportunity. John T estate agents to the fine and loaded. We shall see what happens. My ex-tenant, not Mr. Earl I should add, will end up going to prison. If this does not happen other options may have to be considered. Should be fun. so you see it has all been happening. Why is it when I wander round my estate in Fulham, I get a little feeling that people are a little bit apprehensive of me. I tell you why it is. You get to 52, and you realise there are 1 or 2 people out there that are quite happy to you rip you off. More than 99% of people are brilliant. Friends, family, internet buddies, but the 1 or 2 need telling off. and their debts need paying back. The advantage of being reasonably wealthy is that this will be not difficult to organise, and actually will be quite fun.
Apologies for not talking about sport/gambling but me and Mrs. Gambler have some serious stuff to sort out, and then I can get on with setting up this new "Betting Exchange", taking on "BETFAIR, and turning RTFC into one of the top teams in the country.
Bye for now. have a good Sunday, and a great week.

For various complicated personal reasons, sounds like I will be leaving home tomorrow morning about 20 minutes to eight. I will be in London for a few days, and after that I do not know. Somewhere hot and sunny maybe to sort my brain out.
Whatever. From today I will have limited internet access, so keeping blog going may be difficult.
Its been fun. I shall try and post again if I can, and good luck you all. Life. Complicated sometimes?
Check out http://testpunt.ning.com/

Friendly tonight. Not sure if it is live on Tv, but you can watch on the internet. Matchbet have a market on it, so have a look:- http://www.matchbet.com/
Arsenal and Reading fans might also like to know that we have a big charity match in Reading on Sunday lunchtime. Kick off 2.30pm. Gates open from about 10am.
Ex Arsenal v ex Reading raising money for a charity cancer. Lots of top players turning out, and I might even take my boots for a cameo/comedy appearance for 5 minutes in the second half. That should be worth a fiver of anyones money. Hearse/Ambulance waiting outside on "Red Alert". More details just let me know. The venue is RTFC . Scours Lane, Tilehurst, Reading. Quite accessible by public transport, and car parking space normally available. Admission is about 6 quid. Another charity game kicks off earlier, so the bar will be open from about 10am. Not that I am encouraging anyone to drink irresponsibly, but the facility is available. The clubroom is quite a good venue, and available for private hire, so if you ever want to organise a social function, personal or business, contact me or the club directly. Very reasonable rates especially with the right introduction
That will do for now. Comments welcome.

I have something to say, but I do not know if I want to say it.
I am sitting here at four in the morning with a can of beer in my hands. Surely this is not normal. I started this blog as "The Gambler". I am thinking of changing the name to "The Alcoholic".
How can I change this situation?. I don't know, and I don't think I can. Any suggestions gratefully appreciated,

Have not done one of these in a while.
Life has moved on.
Notice the FTSE has gone up to just under 4600. This has got be good news for somebody. In fact it is probably good news for everybody, perhaps none so more than Gordon Brown. Is the economy recovering after the US mortgage led credit crunch?
Elsewhere I had my first bet with matchbet the other day. Anyone who is following the debates on http://testpunt.ning.com/ will see that we are about to enter the second phase of "The Betting Revolution". The "Young Guns" and maybe a few wise "old heads" and the odd "mischief-maker" are about to launch a multi-pronged attack on the Citadel. "Vive La Revolution". We may not win and we will certainly not die trying, but it should be a laugh, and you never can tell what is going to happen by next Thursday.
Other than that meeting at RTFC this morning to discuss "Action Plan". We are confident of a return to Wembley this season. They play in our League, and The League Cup Double is definitely a possibilty. It is too early to talk of Europe, but the chairperson has promised us all a day out to Boulogne if we do the double.
Give http://www.matchbet.com/ a try. It is different but there is some money knocking around on the football markets and if you contact them, they will add markets of your choice.
Also join http://testpunt.ning.com/
The level of debate is quite high, both in the blogs, the forums, the comments and best of all the chat room. You need to raise the volume in the chat room so you get a beep" when a comment is added. Last night it was "beep..beep...beeep...beeep" mainly about setting up "alternative betting exchanges" and various variations. Interesting Times.
Check this one out sometime as well. A blast from the past.

And Glorious Goodwood today, and the Third Test starts on Thursday. Football season kicking into gear. Reading Chelsea Friendly Saturday. Not to mention RTFC v Beaconsfield. Spoilt for choice. More later.

Went for a walk this morning.
The forecast for today is good, but at the moment it is cold and cloudy. Hopefully will improve later and then I will cut the grass.
This has been the most awful summer in living memory. I feel like I am living in a frideg. Occasionally it feels like the freezer department. Fortunately wen I went out this morning it was quite warm, and I had a very pleasant start to the day.
The other exchange http://testpunt.ning.com/ has gone a bit quiet after last weeks frenetic activity.
I suppose everybody needs a rest now and then.
Clouds starting to clear. May get lawn mower out.
Thers is cricket and golf and racing on today, but my heart is not in it at the moment.
Sorry if the blog has gone a bit quiet recently.
A few comments may help revitalise it a bit.
Meanwhile if you have not checked out other blog. http://testpunt.ning.com/ Sign on, add a few post, and feel free to use the chatroom.
