Diabetes nurse in morning. No problem. Things starting to improve on that front as well. Various follow up appointments to be arranged. Eye test. Next blood test 3 months. Appointment with dietitian to be arranged. Meeting with Gordon at 11.30am. Took him down local pub to meet one of his buddies. I had OJ and lemonade in the Garden. Not my favourite soft drink, but it will do for now. Pretty good test as that is first time I have been on licensed premises since giving up beer. No desire for beer which says it all really. An alcoholic or anyone with a serious drink problem would be tearing at the bit by now. One of the great things about giving up beer/alcohol is your desire goes down quite quickly. To th point where you start saying "why was I ever that fussed, and what a waste of time a lot of this social drinking was. Still met some great people, but I can stay in contact with them. The "soft drink" always being an option. Tea/coffee/maybe as well?
Came home. Rest of afternoon just disappeared. Watched a bit of Murray getting whopped by an in-form Gonzales. No disgrace in that, but what was the third set all about?
Watched bits of cricket, and bits of other tennis. Safina won in 3 sets. Sharapova lost I believe. Soderling whopped Davydenko 6-1 6-3 6-1. One wonders how the spread firms did on the game?
More tennis today on eurosport from 12.45pm. Probably available on BBCi as well. Two more 2020 warm up matches from 1pm and 5pm. That means 5.30pm kick off, I believe. Also from 5.30pm British Lions play Golden Lions. That will take us through to 7.30pm, and then we can watch the end of the cricket, which btw is England v West Indies. Interesting.
Bits of football on as well today. Toulon Tournament on Eurosport. Two matches today. Second one 7.45pm, so that gives evening viewing options. Mrs G. in London all day. Not back till 9pm, so I will sort myself out food-wise and find ways to entertain myself all day. No problem. Slight headache last night, but seems bit better this morning. May have to cut down on tv and internet today to give the eyes a rest.
Would appreciate comments on this blog today to keep it flowing. Also on the other blog, comments, min-blogs, discussions, events would be appreciated to keep it developing. More members would be good too. http://testpunt.ning.com/
Talking of comments. Some great comments on previous blog entry from "Poet", "Mick", and"PH". Seems like everyone has an unemployment story at the moment. I shall return to this subject later. Eyes, headache, time permitting. Meanwhile check out previous blog entry, and comments. Feel free to add your own, either here, there wherever. "POET" what part of London are you based in? And then return to finish off today's blog.
Time to Stop & Stare
What is this life if full of care
We have no time to stand and stare?
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep, or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this, if full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

Rest of yesterday. Phone call with my buddy from Reading Town Football Club. Meeting arranged for next Tuesday. Another "project" on the go, and about to get up and running.
BBQ Chicken for Mrs. G. BIt of a rush as Mrs G. had arranged to go for run at 8pm, and she did not get home till.6.30pm. Squeezed dinner in between arrival and departure. While out I did some jobs in garden. Early night to get rid of headache.
That will do for now. More later on today's sport, unemployment and the world in general.
Couple of quick jobs to do. Will be popping over to other blog in a minute to get that one going today. Mini-blogs and discussions more than welcome, especially today, especially on other site. http://testpunt.ning.com/
Anyone who follows football, start a discussion on your team. The one(s) you support, or the one(s) you or your children play for.
I will kick start this one later with one on Chelsea and then one on RTFC. I am hopining these discussions can run and run, becoming min-blogs for various football teams. Obviously if you are into other sports. Cricket, Rugby, Golf, NBA, Real Tennis, Horse racing,etc...similar guidelines apply. Write about what you like. Write about your team, your favourite player, your favourite horse, how much you won or lost today, whatever... Have fun and enjoy it. The more the merrier. So that is it for now. Join us on the new site in the chat room, or just anywhere in the blogosphere. Greetings Earth People. Bye for now. See you on the new site in a minute.
