30 June 2008.

Good Morning.

The weekend. Saturday we made it to gym for a swim and a jacuzzi, etc...

Came home. Mrs. G went shopping, and | cut the grass.Siesta followed by watching a bit of tennis. Dinner and TV.

Sunday. Couple of hours gardening. Quick meeting sorting out paperwork and bills. Few more jobs followed by dinner, and then a quick beer. Home in time to watch the second half of Spain v Germany. Spain were obviously deserved winners.

Elsewhere Kenny Perry won the Buick Open, and the unknown Larrazabel won the French Open.

Today a few jobs to do and probably watch some tennis. Weather looks set fair so it should be a BBQ, more tennis, and probably watch Criminal Justice tonight. Sounds good.

Rest of the week much of the same. If you have a bet today be lucky.

Sat 28 Jun 2008.

Mornings.

Yesterday went to my diabetes counselling session. Had to leave after half an hour as the room was too hot, and I was starting to feel ill. No problem. The woman running the class came out and told me she wanted to cancel the session as the heat was ridiculous.

Ended up having a stoill round Newbury, anjd joining my lunchtime buddies fo a lunchtime lager.

Came home and fell asleep. Went down The Sun for Steak Night. Very Good

Watched a bit of Tv and went to bed . Saw some of the Nelson Mandela concert.  Very Good. Brought back a lot of memories. Mandela bought me a drink about twenty years ago. I said "I'll have a half nelson".

Too tired to write much more. I'm going back to bed..

That was the day that was.

Yesterday. By the time I had finished doing my bits it was lunchtime..

Quick beer or two, then came home and did one or two other little jobs.

Went out to vote. Decided to go cross-country and ended up getting lost. Walked about five miles, through some beautiful countryside. Ended up really enjoying it, even though I got a bit concerned when I ended up in a field with loads of bulls. The fences were covered in barbed wire, so if one of them had spotted me, it could have got a a bit messy.

I am serioulsy upset that the labour candidate Richard McKenzie finished fifth behind the BNP. I met Richard on Monday night, and he is a really nice young bloke with a good personality and a pleasant sense of humour. I hope he stays involved in politics, as I think he could have a big future.. It is a shocking indictment on Henley constituency, and the country as a whole that the BNP, politely described  by the BBC as a Far Right party, can push the Labour Party into fifth place. Do people not remeber the Second World War. Concentration camps?. The millions of people that died needlessly, and there are over a 1000 people in Henley, one of the richest consticuencies in the country, that want to take us back down that road.

As for John Howell the Conservative candidate that won, locally known as "Mr. Personality NOT". At least Boris Johnson had some personality, sense of humour and possibly charisma. We shall see how Boris gets on running London, and I have my own views, which I might as well say, he is going to screw up. I would not let him run my local pub, let alone one of the biggest cities in the world. He should stay out in the country, where he can just about get away with being a buffoon.

On the sports front. Murray did well. Sharapova got stuffed. More time on the tennis Maria, and less time on the wardrobe maybe? Spain beat Russia as predicted, and will now get beat by Germany at the weekend,

This morning I have to go out for a few hours, but I will return at some point thiis afternoon. If you have a bet be lucky.

Thursday 26th June.

Busy week.

Monday lunchtime beer. Buddy took me to Walllingford to his local pub. we had a game of Pool, and then he dropped me off at Didcot. Mrs G. picked me up and we went to a fund-raising dinner in Thame. The Guest Speaker was John O'Farrell, writer and comedian, who appears on shows like "Have I got News for you?". I knew John in London in the eighties, so it was good to catch up with him. He spoke very well, and was extremely amusing. Good Evening.

Tuesday was a bit of waste of time. Met some buddies and instead of spending one hour in the pub at lunchtime, spent four. Sort of wipes the day out..

Yesterday we went to Wimbledon. Lunch followed by Djokovic v Safin. Then Afternoon Tea followed by Federer v Soderling. Got home about 10pm.

I see Germany beat Turkey and are now in the Final. Tonight Russia play Spain. Should be a good game.Lots of other sport on as well. Tennis Golf Cricket Football and Rugby League.

Lots of jobs to do as well, so I had better get going. Bye for now.

Quick Update.

Great day yesterday. More details later.

Later that morning.

Good Morning.

Today is the first day of Wimbledon. Get on Nadal.

Tennis trading on Wimbledon is quite an easy way to make money. Here are a few tips.

1. Make sure you watch on BBC. Terrestial rather than Digital. I suspect if you live in UK you have a slight advantage.

2. Start off slow. The first match you trade just try to make a few quid. Build up you bank through the first few days.

3. Have a view on who will make the final. In the mens Nadal v Federer or possibly Djokovic.

4. Nadal and Federer occasionally start off slow, but go onto win quite easily. Their prices can drift in the first set or two.

5. Keep it Green.

6. Don't bet before the match unless you want to try and do a bit of trading.

7. If you have the opportunity to watch it all, develop a view throughout the first few days.

8. Grass favours big servers.

9. Remember in women's tennis drops of serves are more frequent, whereas in men's tennis on grass, a break of serve often wins the set,

10. If a player loses a tie-break in the first set, if they serve first in the second, they quite often drop their serve.

11. There is no reason why you cannot go through Wimbledon making a profit on every match.

12. Try not to get too greedy.

13. And finally remember the main rule again. KEEP IT GREEN.

Monday 23rd June.

Yesterday did a few things in the morning and then went for lunch.

Mrs G. settled down to finish her work and I just pottered around.

I made a Tortilla in the Aga, and watched Spain v Italy. Spain deserved to win as Italy looked like England on a bad day.

One of my regular readers is a bit upset. He likes to leave pithy pathetic comments. I always welcome comments and criticism, but I have a rule it has to be positive and/or constructive. If not bang bang you are dead. Negative unconstrructive comments are not welcome.

One of the reasons I started my blog was to get away from the Betfair Forum. Most of the boys on the BF Forum are good guys, but there are so many negative sad time losers, eventually it becomes incredibly boring.

Life is short and I have no wish to waste my time and involve myself with numpties. I am sorry if that sounds harsh, but you have to make decisions in life, and one of mine, is who do I want to spend time with, who do I want to talk to. At this point some people have to be deselected. I like to engage with the 99.99% of posters who post positive comments or constructive criticism. The other 0.01% can go away, and that is me being polite again.

Well that is my Grumpy Old Man bit out of the way, but it's Zero Tolerance round here again. Comments welcome or else I will stop blogging.

Pay Restraint.

The Chancellor is calling on the country to exercise Pay Restraint. At the same time MP's are asking for an extra £24,000 a year to run their second home.

Well I've got an idea. Why don't MP's set the country an example and take a pay cut? If we all have to tighten our belts, let's not leave MP's out of the equation. What they actually do for their money is quite often beyond me. Walking through the lobby as voting fodder, propping up the members bar, in their spare time writing their autobiography, and adding to their property portfolio. Sack the lot of them, and tell them to get a proper job. It would come as quite as surprise to them all.

It's Sunday.

Good Morning.

Yesterday. Gym. Lunch. Siesta. Ironing. Cricket. Doctor Who. Scary. Dinner. Early night.

Today. Up early. No plans for day but suspect ironing and tidying up will be the order of the day.

Planning to pop out for a quick lunch at 1pm.

Tonight Spain v Italy should be worth watching. On past form Spain will blow out and Italy will come good, but you never know. Germany now best priced 7/4. And if I have not mentioned before Nadal will win Wimbledon barring injury.

That is it for now. Catch you all later. I really need some comments to motivate me, so any polite ones would be appreciated.

Bog of the Day.

A rare award for Paul Haigh.

Last backed a winner in 1966 apparently.

He had a fiver on Geoff Hurst to score a hat-trick at 3/1.
